How Your Lash Extensions Are Determined By Your Natural Lashes
Can we have whatever lash style I want?
The quick answer is no - but we will always try our best to get close to it. Your lash extensions come down to the hair growth of your natural lashes and your genetics. It's like getting a hair blow-dry. We show the hairdresser our favourite inspo pic and your stylist will aim to achieve the look, however we can never expect it to look EXACTLY the same. This all depends on your natural hair. Sometimes we physically can not achieve a certain look if you have thin, sparse lashes as this may damage your natural lash state. Also keeping in mind the direction of your lashes! If your lashes grow downward or really straight, this will look different to the client who has really curled lashes.
The golden lash rule is - the thicker the natural lash the more extensions we can apply. As lash heath is the #1 priory in a lash techs world we may be limited on how full/volumised and long we can make the set as it all depends on the length and strength of your natural lash and how much weight it can handle.
As an eyelash technician, we undergo extensive training to make sure that we are applying your extensions safely without causing any stress to your natural lashes. When assessing your lashes during your consultation, your lash tech will determine the weight and length that is going to be used in your set. This is done by measuring your natural lash and deciding what length and thickness is best suited for you to ensure sustainable lashing. We never go 3mm longer than your natural lashes in Classic Lashes. With Volume Extensions this may vary as the weight of the lashes are lighter - however we apply more extensions to the one lash to create a full look.
If the wrong lash is used, your natural lashes will not survive continuous infils and your lash journey will end very quickly. This is because if the extension is too heavy it will forcefully pull out your natural lash from its root as they start to grow out. Your natural lash will not be able to support the heavy extension and will damage the hair follicle which goes back to our original theory - your lash extensions come down to the hair growth of your natural lashes. The less lashes that grow back the less lashes we can apply. If there isn't a natural lash there where are we going to put the extension?
Lashing is safe if you follow the lash rules and guidelines. If it means dropping the intensity or length slightly to maintain healthy, long term lashes then so be it!
We will always try and get as close to the style that you love but will never compromise the health of your natural eyelashes
Keep floating xx.
